The Royal Society for the Protection of birds (RSPB<\/a>) says: “the normal clutch size for mallard is 12 eggs, laid at one to two day intervals.”<\/p>\n

Which makes the mother of this 16 strong brood paddling past our appartment yesterday something of a dynamic duck.<\/p>\n

I’ve heard the record is 21 – so she still has a way to go.\u00a0 Impressive stuff all the same!<\/p>\n
